improvemyself.info - Casual Attraction |
I was talking to a good friend the other day, a real natural with the ladies who's been pulling girls since he was in 5th grade.
He told me about his new take on life, and I think it's something really powerful. I'm sure there are many zen people out there who have come up with this idea long before we did, but I don't know who they are, so I'll just pretend we're the first to think of this. :)
We dubbed it the "Theory of Casual."
The theory of casual states that everything you do in life should be done casually. Getting yourself too emotionally wrapped up in something isn't good for you. It seems like some people in life let everything get to them. Even when it comes to a game of beer pong; something so pointless in the overall scheme of things that it has zero relevance on one's life. But I know guys who get so mad when they lose at beer pong that they can hardly talk to each other.
Obviously, those guys are lame as hell. But it's a somewhat extreme example of something that happens every day. People let things bother them. They get wrapped up in relatively meaningless things because they have nothing better to do with their lives.
So we decided that we would begin to do everything casually.
Now casual is a state of mind, not an energy level. That is, we're not saying you can't go completely crazy at a wild party, and instead you have to casually lean against the wall all the time. That is NOT the theory of casual.
The theory of casual states that you should be in the moment at all times, and you should not try to engineer specific outcomes. When I begin to play a game, or chat with a girl, I'm not thinking about what could happen with her. I'm just casually playing or chatting.
Everything is casual. Be the ball.
